Chefs, Kids and Celebrities Join Forces to Mark the Launch of “The 19th Great Chefs of Hong Kong”

Today, as a preview of Heep Hong Society’s annual fundraising extravaganza “The 19th Great Chefs of Hong Kong”, pop singer Ms Kay Tse “Heep Hong Ambassador” pooled effort with the chefs, and the Society’s children to call upon the community’s kind support to this charity event. All proceeds from the event will go to supporting children with special needs and their families.
To highlight the coming charity event, over 30 top chefs from different renowned hotels and restaurants, Heep Hong Ambassador, pop singer Ms Kay Tse joined hands with children from Heep Hong Society in a cake-decorating competition today to mark the launch of “The 19th Great Chefs of Hong Kong” which is going to be held on 11 May 2010.
Assistant Director of Heep Hong Society, Mr Peter Au Yeung, said, “The number of children with special developmental problems is on the rising trend. The training for them is a long term commitment and support from the community is therefore vital.” Mr Au Yeung expressed his gratitude to the participating chefs who will offer a gourmet spread of food and drink during the event, which promises to be an evening of exceptional culinary enjoyment.
The 19th Great Chefs of Hong Kong will be held on 11 May 2009 (Tue) from 6pm to 9pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Dinner tickets for the evening are available at HK$700 (General) and HK$1,200(Great Chefs Plus).To help raise more funds for the needy children, meanwhile, the Society is holding grand raffle ticket sale with HK$20 each from 1 April to 11 May. Founded in 1963, Heep Hong Society is a non-profit charitable organization providing professional care, education and training services to children with different abilities to reach their full potential. Heep Hong is currently running 30 services units, including five parents resource centres, serving 6,000 families each year.
