Press Release

The 22nd Great Chefs of Hong Kong 40 Chefs Present ‘Nourish to Flourish’ in Support of Heep Hong Society

2014-05-22

The Great Chefs of Hong Kong is back in full swing on 19 June 2014 (Thursday) evening at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong with only the best Hong Kong restaurants and vendors taking part in the most celebrated foodie event of the year.

The theme of the event is ‘Nourish to Flourish’, which means that the nourishing food served by over 40 top chefs of renowned hotels and restaurants, together with the generous support from over 1,000 warm-hearted patrons, will give children with special needs the strength to flourish through the professional training services provided by the Society. Proceeds from sales of entry tickets will be used to benefit more children with developmental problems and their families through the services of Heep Hong’s Parents Resource Centres, which are not receiving any subsidies from the Government.

The invitation to this event is extended to all members of the community in support of the prominent Hong Kong charity. Three dining options are available: Great Chefs General Ticket (HK$800) ensures a place in the Grand Ballroom where guests can enjoy fine champagne and signature dishes of over 30 different outlets. Great Chefs Plus (HK$1,380) allows guests entry into the Grand Ballroom, plus a seat at one of the Grand Rooms’ exclusive tables, where patrons will be hosted by six charming chefs and select wine companies. Or go all out with The Star Chefs Plus (HK$1,800) foran experience not to be missed – including dinner between 7-10pm in the Tiffin Lounge, where ten chefs will personally cook and entertain guests enjoying premium wine.

Established in 1963, Heep Hong Society is a leading local non-profit organisation committed to helping children and young adults with special needs and their families develop their potential in a happy and healthy environment, thereby contributing to a more inclusive society. Heep Hong’s 500-strong professional team comprises psychologists, therapists, pre-school teachers, social workers and nurses. Every year, its services at over 40 service units directly benefit more than 6,000 families. Special needs addressed include autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, specific learning difficulties, developmental delay, speech delay and multiple handicaps.
